Duncan Riley from Silicon Angle shares about CNAPPgoat, our newest open-source project aimed at helping organizations test their cloud security skills, processes, tools, and posture in safe interactive sandbox environments. The project, to be presented at the DEF CON hacker conference Demo Labs event, facilitates the evaluation of cloud-native application protection platforms (CNAPPs). CNAPPgoat offers customizable sandbox environments to assess security posture, train team members, and develop penetration testing abilities. It covers various CNAPP specifications defined by Gartner Inc., and future plans include adding infrastructure-as-code scanning to identify misconfigurations. The project encourages community contributions and is available for commercial, technical, and educational use.
