Company Singled Out from Field of 25 Finalists for Addressing Top Cloud Security Risks

PALO ALTO and TEL AVIV, Nov. 9, 2020 - Ermetic, the cloud identity and access governance company, today announced it has won the Sierra Ventures Challenge organized by Startup50 and will present its product to enterprise buyers from Sierra Ventures CXO advisory board.

“As the shift to cloud has accelerated, managing identity and access is a problem that sits in the critical path. Ermetic offers a well-architected and differentiated component of cloud security in a competitive space,” Mark Fernandes, Managing Partner, Sierra Ventures.

Ermetic has developed a disruptive technology that addresses the complexities of governing human and machine identities and access entitlements in public cloud applications. Through the continuous analysis of permissions and activity, the Ermetic Cloud Security Platform governs human and machine identities and access entitlements in AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, enabling enterprises to automatically enforce least privilege and mitigate security risks at scale.

“Winning the Sierra Ventures Challenge is further validation for the importance of the cloud security problem we are solving - infrastructure entitlements management and identity governance,” said Shai Morag, CEO of Ermetic. “We are honored with this recognition and the opportunity to present Ermetic’s technology to enterprise buyers from Sierra Ventures CXO advisory board.”

Last week, Ermetic introduced the first product that uses analytics to provide visibility into both cloud identity entitlements and network access configurations so customers can assess and govern the risks associated with complex scenarios of users, machines, and resources. This unified view helps eliminate attack surface blind spots and enables organizations to identify over privileged and risky entitlements across their multi-cloud infrastructures with one automated tool.

“In August, Startup50 and Sierra Ventures teamed up to issue a new challenge to startups, one that would help them navigate rapidly changing market conditions. We asked startups to develop a plan to win over enterprise customers in a tough market. Ermetic’s identity and access management tools squarely address two major weaknesses of cloud computing, helping them stand out in a competitive cloud security market,” Jeff Vance, founder and editor-in-chief of Startup50.
