When managing a public cloud environment, organizations frequently overlook the secure management of identities and access. In fact, Gartner estimates that as soon as next year 99% of cloud security failures will be the cloud customer’s fault -- with 75% of those resulting from inadequate management of identities, access and privileges.
In this aspect, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is no different.
This session offers an introduction to the IAM mechanisms available in GCP. You will learn about the important concepts and objects for managing resources and access to them in GCP, some of the challenges you may run into when starting to manage a new environment and best practices to adopt to face them. We will also explore common pitfalls that GCP administrators should be aware of.
Join us, as well, for a sneak peek into our approach of using automated analysis to meet the challenges at scale and with ease when managing a GCP environment in a single or multicloud architecture.
We will be presenting the GCP IAM mechanisms in reference to the equivalent AWS and Azure models. If you are already familiar with these other models, you’ll pick up the GCP concepts quickly - and if you’re not - don’t worry, you’ll probably learn even more!
