In his recent article for Dark Reading, Robert Lemos takes a look at how Microsoft and other major cloud providers are planning to eliminate basic security weaknesses (e.g. usernames and passwords over unencrypted channels) and move toward more secure forms of authentication for their business customers.
"The use of weak authentication protocols, especially in the cloud, can be very dangerous and lead to major data leaks," said Igal Gofman, Ermetic Head of Research. "Nation-states and cybercriminals are constantly abusing weak authentication protocols by executing a variety of different brute-force attacks against cloud services."
